ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AD VALOREM TAX EXEMPTIONS FOR NEW BUSINESSES AND EXPANSIONS OF EXISTING BUSINESSES

Shall the board of county commissioners of Brevard County, Florida continue to be authorized to grant, pursuant to s. 3, Art. VII of the State Constitution, property tax exemptions to new businesses and expansions of existing businesses that are expected to create new, full-time jobs in the county?


School Board Referendum

(Voted on by all registered voters in Brevard County)

ONE-HALF CENT SALES SURTAX FOR CRITICAL SCHOOL FACILITIES RENEWAL, SCHOOL SECURITY AND TECHNOLOGY UPGRADES

Would you support the School Board levying a one-half cent surtax on sales in Brevard County, beginning 1/1/15, for a period of six years, to be used exclusively for critical school facility renewal projects, school security and technology upgrades? A needs-based prioritized list of projects has been published and expenditures will be monitored by an independent citizen oversight committee.


City of Cocoa

Non-Binding: Raising and Keeping of Chickens on Residential Property for Domestic Purposes

Should the City Council amend the City Code to allow, as a permitted use, the raising and keeping of chickens for domestic (non-commercial) purposes on residential property under certain terms and conditions to be determined by the City Council at a public hearing?

Amending Date to Certify City Election Results and Swear-In Councilmembers

The Supervisor of Elections has 10 days after a general election to count overseas and military ballots and to certify election results. City Charter currently requires certification of City elections and swearing-in of elected councilmembers before the 10 day time period expires. Should the Charter be amended requiring the City Council to certify City election results and swear-in councilmembers at the next regular or special Council meeting following the Supervisor certifying City election results?

Renewal of Economic Development Ad Valorem Tax Exemption

Shall the City Council of the City of Cocoa continue to be authorized to grant, pursuant to s. 3, Art. VII of the State Constitution, property tax exemptions to new businesses and expansions of existing businesses that are expected to create new, full-time jobs in the City of Cocoa?

Cocoa Riverfront Park

Should the Charter be amended to designate the Cocoa Riverfront Park located within the Cocoa Village a "Special Scenic and Recreational Landmark" of the City and require the Council to maintain adequate policies and regulations to protect the public scenic riverfront vistas and recreational amenities at the Park, and to require the City to maintain the Park for public purposes unless approved by a majority vote of the qualified City electors voting in an election.


City of Cocoa Beach

Economic Development Ad Valorem Tax Exemption

Shall the City Council of the City of Cocoa Beach be authorized to grant, pursuant to Section 3 (c), Article VII of the State Constitution, property tax exemptions to new businesses and expansions of existing businesses?


Town of Malabar

Question 1

Continued Participation in the Brevard County Law Enforcement MSTU (MSTU) with financial impact information.

Malabar approved the MSTU at 0.8680 mil per $1000.00 of value; that millage increased annually to 1.35574 dropping to 1.3378 in 2013. The cost breakdown is: 2006 a house with a taxable value of $85,000.00 paid $73.75; 2012 the same house paid $115.38. This excludes the county tax charged all property owners for the jail, canine, helicopter, SWAT services and court costs. Shall the Town continue to participate in the Brevard County Law Enforcement MSTU?

Question 2

Amendment to section 2.07 of the Charter relating to the terms for town council members.

Shall Section 2.07 of the Charter be amended to increase the term of council members from two (2) to three (3) years with a limit of two consecutive terms?


City of Titusville

City of Titusville Economic Development Ad Valorem Tax Exemption

Shall the City Council of the city of Titusville, Florida be authorized to continue to grant, pursuant to S. 3, Art. VII of the State Constitution, property tax exemptions to new businesses and expansions of existing businesses that are expected to create new, full-time jobs in the city?


Barefoot Bay

BAREFOOT BAY RECREATION DISTRICT CHARTER AMENDMENT ARTICLE IV. 13.

Shall the Barefoot Bay Recreation District Charter be amended to increase the common real or tangible personal property acquisition limit (without a two-thirds vote of the Board of Trustees and referendum approved by the electors of the District) from $25,000.00 to $75,000.00 to reflect the inflation factor since the Charter was first adopted in 1984?
