53 candidates qualified this week with the Supervisor of Elections for the 2014 Primary and General elections. Candidates for County Commission, School Board, and Special District races had until noon today to file their qualifying paperwork with Supervisor of Elections Lori Scott.

“I believe the high number of individuals seeking public office in the 2014 Election exemplifies the character of Brevard County and our community’s commitment to public service,” said Supervisor Scott. In addition to the 53 candidates who qualified this week, Supervisor Scott held qualifying for the Brevard County Court candidates, April 28th - May 2nd. During the judicial qualifying period, four candidates met the requirements for the 2014 ballot.
