The Brevard County Supervisor of Elections Office was one of five Election Offices in the nation to receive the U.S. Election Assistance Commission’s Clearinghouse Award. The award recognized Election Worker Best Practices and Brevard won for its innovative Practice Makes Perfect Poll Worker Lab.

The competition, judged by election officials from around the nation, was based on five criteria: innovation, sustainability, effectiveness, “bang for the buck,” and the ability to be readily duplicated or increased in scale.

“Our Practice Makes Perfect Poll Worker Lab is another tool we use to reinforce the statutory training our poll workers receive before every single election,” said Supervisor Scott. “I couldn’t be prouder of our dedicated poll workers who take time out of their weekends to come to The Lab on a voluntary basis.”

Supervisor Scott first implemented the Practice Makes Perfect Poll Worker Lab in 2012. Since that time, 1700 poll workers have taken advantage of the extra training.

“This award is truly a tribute to my hard-working staff and our amazing poll workers,” said Supervisor Scott. “We are honored to receive this recognition.”
