Viera, FL – Supervisor of Elections Lori Scott sent out new Voter Information Cards to 11,000 voters formally registered with the now disbanded Independent Party of Florida. The Independent Party of Florida was disbanded earlier this month for failure to comply with certain statutory requirements. Prior to that action, 11,629 voters in Brevard County (over 260,000 statewide) listed the Independent Party of Florida as their political party affiliation.

Per state guidelines, the political party of these voters defaulted to No Party Affiliation (NPA). Voters affected by this change, who wish to not remain a NPA, may complete the form on the back of their new Voter Information Card or complete a new Voter Registration Application.

A current list of registered political parties in Florida and Florida Voter Registration Applications can be found online at VoteBrevard.com.
