Supervisor of Elections Lori Scott is alerting Brevard voters of another mail campaign initiated by the Voter Participation Center (VPC). The VPC is a Washington, D.C. based voter organization that, in theory, targets citizens who are currently not registered to vote.
The VPC pulls information for their mailings from various and unverified sources. Past mailings have resulted in voter registration forms and mail ballot requests being sent to voters who are already registered and/or who already have a mail ballot request on file. Additionally, deceased persons, minor children and even pets have been the recipients of previous mailings.
Although the VPC is a registered third-party organization with the State of Florida, they are not affiliated with the Brevard County Supervisor of Elections office. Any questions or concerns regarding the VPC’s mailings should be directed to the Voter Participation Center at (877) 255-6750 or by visiting: //www.voterparticipation.org.
Voters can check their registration status on www.VoteBrevard.com or by calling (321) 633-2124. Voters who Vote-by-Mail can track their ballot on www.VoteBrevard.com or call the Mail Ballot department at (321) 633-2127.
“I encourage all registered voters who receive a notice to first check their registration status via the VoteBrevard.com website before calling,” said Supervisor Scott. “Although concerning, unsolicited and unofficial mailings from 3rd party organizations do not mean your voter registration status has changed.”
