Request a Public Records Exemption

The following categories of voters are eligible to have their residence address and phone number exempted from disclosure under section 119.071(4)(d) of the Florida Statutes:

  • active or former law enforcement personnel, including correctional and correctional probation officers, and their spouses and children
  • personnel of the Department of Children and Family Services whose duties include the investigation of abuse, neglect, exploitation, fraud, theft, or other criminal activities, and their spouses and children
  • personnel of the Department of Health whose duties are to support the investigation of child abuse or neglect, and their spouses and children
  • personnel of the Department of Revenue or local governments whose responsibilities include revenue collection and enforcement or child support enforcement, and their spouses and children
  • firefighters certified in compliance with s. 633.35, and their spouses and children
  • justices of the Supreme Court, district court of appeal judges, circuit court judges, and county court judges, and their spouses and children
  • current or former state attorneys, assistant state attorneys, statewide prosecutors, or assistant statewide prosecutors, and their spouses and children
  • general magistrates, special magistrates, judges of compensation claims, administrative law judges of the Division of Administrative Hearings, and child support enforcement hearing officers, and their spouses and children
  • current or former human resource, labor relations, or employee relations directors, assistant directors, managers, or assistant managers of any local government agency or water management district whose duties include hiring and firing employees, labor contract negotiation, administration, or other personnel-related duties, and their spouses and children
  • current or former United States attorneys and assistant United States attorneys, and their spouses and children
  • current or former judges of United States Courts of Appeal, United States district judges, and United States magistrate judges, and their spouses and children
  • current or former code enforcement officers and their spouses and children
  • current or former guardians ad litem and their spouses and children
  • current or former juvenile probation officers, juvenile probation supervisors, detention superintendents, assistant detention superintendents, senior juvenile detention officers, juvenile detention officer supervisors, juvenile detention officers, house parents I and II, house parent supervisors, group treatment leaders, group treatment leader supervisors, rehabilitation therapists, and social services counselors of the Department of Juvenile Justice, and their spouses and children

The following categories of voters are eligible to have their residence address and phone number exempted from disclosure under section 119.071(2)(j)(1) of the Florida Statutes (this information ceases to be exempt five years after the receipt of the written request):

  • victims of sexual battery, aggravated child abuse, aggravated stalking, harassment, aggravated battery, or domestic violence; the voter must include official verification that an applicable crime has occurred

The following categories of voters are eligible to have their entire registration record protected from disclosure under section 741.465(2) of the Florida Statutes:

  • program participants in the Address Confidentiality Program for Victims of Domestic Violence held by the Office of the Attorney General; the voter must attach a copy of their certificate of participation from Attorney General and that must be renewed every four years
