2nd Annual Launch the Vote Student Art Contest

Brevard County Supervisor of Elections Lori Scott is pleased to announce the winners of the 2nd Annual Launch the Vote Student Art Contest

1st Place was awarded to Sarah Biesak (Viera Charter School), 2nd Place to Shelby Petracco (Ralph Williams), and 3rd Place to Cheyenne Twiss (Westside). Honorable Mentions were awarded to Keith Santos (Mila Elementary), Brianna Firkel (Suntree Elementary) and Collin Acker (Westside Elementary).

Winners were presented with prizes from local Chick-fil-A locations, who have partnered with Supervisor Scott on the Art Contest for the past two years.  “We saw a 30% increase in this year’s entries,” said Supervisor Scott.  “Having a great community partner like Chick-fil-A certainly encourages our young artists.” The 1st Place winner received a Chick-fil-A party for 25 people; 2nd Place received a cookie party for the winner’s class; 3rd Place received meal cards for the winner’s immediate family. All 583 student artists will receive a free Chick-fil-A sandwich coupon.

Artwork from all six students will be displayed in the Supervisor of Elections Viera Office for the next year.  1st, 2nd, and 3rd place artwork will be displayed in Chick-fil-A restaurants throughout Brevard in the month of October.

As an educator, you play a vital role in the development of Brevard's youth and their civic education. The Supervisor of Elections office has a variety of resources available to excite young minds about the importance of voting and the elections process. For example, as a teacher you can request Supervisor Lori Scott as a guest speaker for your classroom to discuss the elections process and the importance of voting. In addition, the Elections office offers other resources and tours of the Viera office.
